1. Based on the data and information gathered under terms (1), and (2)
above, the contractor should rank fishing practices, for a given fish stock or group
of associated fish stocks, in terms of energy efficiency.
2. Through analysis of energy consumption of the different devices
used
at different
phases of the fishing operation, to identify possible areas of action to increase
energy efficiency and propose practical solutions to achieve it.
3. To express the above-mentioned results in economic terms relative to other economic
indicators of the identified metiers, such as running costs, turnover, etc.
4. To analyse the short and long-term consequences of moving towards a more energy-efficient
practice in terms of initial investment, period of repayment of these and long-term
gains over the life of the boat. The analysis should contemplate six different scenarios
on catch rates and fuel prices corresponding to status quo, increased fuel prices
and catch rates and decreased catch rates.
Task 4.1: Ranking practices in terms of energy efficiency
Task 4.2: Identify possible areas of action to increase energy efficiency
Task 4.3: Evaluation of scenarios in economic terms
Task 4.4: Analysis of short and long term consequences of energy-efficient practices.
