A number of positive reactions from the industry were received, mentioned below.
The Dutch fishing industry is willing to cooperate and supply information.
The Belgian fishing industry is willing to cooperate and share expertise.
The National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations expressed support for this
project in an e-mail to Partner 6 (SEAFISH) The “Comité National des Peches (CNPMEM)”
expressed support for this project in a signed letter to Partner 9 (IFREMER).
The Italian Fishermen’s Association “Consorzio Pesca Ancona” agreed to cooperate
with Partner 10 (CNR-ISMAR). The Italian company Grilli, “Officina Meccanica Navale”
agreed to cooperate with Partner 10 (CNR-ISMAR).
The Italian fisheries association “Federpesca” expressed interest in the tender
proposal to Partner 11 (IREPA).
In addition a number of participants (i.e. Partner 1 (IMARES), Partner 5 (ILVO),
Partner 6 (SEAFISH), Partner 7 (BIM), Partner 9 (IFREMER), Partner 10 (CNR-ISMAR))
are already engaged in related complementary national technical projects with the
fishing industry (See Task 2.2) or are currently developing these (e.g. Partner
1 (IMARES)).
The main and sub-contractors engaged in Task Group Economics have a long-lasting
relationship with the fishing industry supplying economic data (i.e. Partner 3 (LEI),
Partner 4 (Framian), Partner 6 (SEAFISH), Partner 8 (FOI), Partner 9 (IFREMER),
Partner 11 (IREPA)).
