Anctartica-Ross sea Circulation
The CLIMA IV (Climatic Long-term Interactions for the Mass balance in Antarctica) project studies the importance of dense water
formation in Antarctica and their involvement in thermohaline circulation and in global climate regulation, with particular attention to
the process variability and its impact on deep oceanic circulation. Mooring group picked up, checked, downloaded data and
redeployed the Ross Sea CLIMA moorings, which are arrays of currentmeters, temperature, conductivity, pressure recorders as
well as sediment traps and turbidimeters.Time series of the CLIMA project from this kind of instruments are longer than 10 years
at the present.
