Pesticides in environmental
Organochlorine pesticides, including typical representatives of this group of chemicals such  as technical hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH), have been extensively studied in the last 30 years, due to their large production and usage, their impact on non-target organisms, bioaccumulation and persistence in the environment. The great solubility in fats of these pesticides it’s responsible of bioaccumulation of OC in living organisms like fishes and human population.
In the
 nord of Durres city (Albania), 7 km, near of it and about 1 km near of seaside was constructed chemicals and pesticides factory. The majority of production of this factory was Lindane.
The activity production of this factory was interrupted in 1991 and near the site of production were buried industrial waste. In this area there is a high pollution of HCH caused by industrial waste of factory.
