This field of activity focuses on the assessment of the impacts induced on the marine environment (sediments, benthic communities and fish assemblages) by different human activities also using advanced acoustic technologies such as Multibeam echosounder (MBES) and Side Scan Sonar (SSS), and gives suggestions/solutions to reduce these impacts.

The studies regard: offshore gas platforms and pipelines; dredging and discharge areas; fishing activities (by-catch and discards).
